Meet Dr. Richard Rand
Providing patients with plastic surgery and non-surgical treatment options, Dr. Rand uses his medical expertise and aesthetic sensibilities to make a positive impact on the lives of his patients. Dr. Rand is constantly driven by the unique challenges of plastic surgery, a field that seamlessly blends artistry and medical science.
After being the Chief of Plastic Surgery at the University of Washington Medical Center for 10 years, Dr. Rand became the owner and director of the Northwest Center for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. A leading Seattle and Bellevue area plastic surgery practice, Dr. Rand interacts personally and extensively with each of his patients so that they can understand what each cosmetic procedure can offer them to achieve their desired results. Dr. Rand then develops in partnership with each patient a treatment plan that is designed to meet each patient's specific needs.
Dr. Rand is a fourth-generation physician who grew up surrounded by dedicated medical professionals. Dr. Rand's father and grandfather were both world-renowned neurosurgeons. His grandfather established the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Southern California, and his father was responsible for the development of microscopic neurosurgery and for the growth of the Department of Neurosurgery at UCLA.
It was his father's dedication to surgery and his mother's dedication to art that led Dr. Rand to plastic surgery, a discipline that combines aesthetic sensibilities and medical science. He has found plastic surgery to be a creative, challenging, and diverse field, one which allows him to make a positive impact on many patients' lives. Dr. Rand's main goal is to provide the level of care that he and his family would hope to receive.
Dr. Rand received his A.B. degree with Distinction from Stanford University and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa national academic honor society. He received his M.D. from University of Michigan. He underwent general surgery training in Boston at Tufts-New England Medical Center, after which he received Board Certification from the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Rand then trained in plastic surgery at Emory University, which was America's most prestigious teaching program at the time. He then completed a fellowship in craniofacial surgery at the University of Miami, after which he became Board Certified in Plastic Surgery.
